I once got into a philosophical conversation about taxes and patriotism. Here’s my take: tax evasion is illegal…don’t do it! BUT, tax avoidance is altogether different, and I fully support doing everything legally possible to reduce tax liability. Apparently, some people think that’s unpatriotic. Well, I ain’t one of them. (Yes mom, I know “ain’t” is not proper English…just using it to make a point!).
At tax time, I like to remind folks about the limits on patriotism when it comes to paying taxes. I’ve written about this before here. Here’s to paying the least amount of taxes possible!
